Sudoku for beginners
You only need one rule: every row, column, and box uses 1–9 once. Easy boards leave more given digits so you can learn by doing.

The first habit
Scan for a box that is almost full. If eight digits are placed, the last cell is forced. That single move is how most beginners finish their first grid.
When to use notes
If two digits still fit a cell, pencil both in. Notes are not cheating — they are how you avoid guessing.
Questions
- What size should a beginner use?
- Classic 9×9 easy is fine. If that feels crowded, try a 4×4 or 6×6 first.
- Should I guess?
- No. Easy sudoku is designed to be solved with singles and simple notes.
